    Casey has signed the Longford Park construction contract with Trafford. The 12-month programme will refurbish heritage buildings, sports and play facilities, landscapes, and public space while converting the Long Barn into an energy-efficient community facility.


  • H.I.G. buys Phoenix ME to accelerate expansion

    H.I.G. Capital has acquired mechanical contractor Phoenix ME in Britain. Existing management will remain in place as the business targets further UK and European growth across data centres, life sciences, infrastructure, and commercial construction.


  • Blackpool opens Central Drive regeneration procurement

    Blackpool has opened market engagement for its Central Drive regeneration. The £90.4m-backed first phase combines large-scale demolition with up to 230 energy-efficient homes, infrastructure, community uses, and new public realm.


  • Skinningrove flood scheme begins bridge replacement

    Construction has started on Skinningrove’s £13 million flood defence programme. A replacement bridge will remove manually operated barriers, protect more than 100 homes, and maintain permanent vehicle access when Skinningrove Beck rises.


  • Eden Morecambe enters main construction programme

    Eden Project Morecambe is entering its main site construction phase. VINCI Building will start with the public garden before progressing the two principal visitor structures and connecting Metronome building ahead of the planned 2028 opening.

    Akela has secured four Scottish housing groundworks packages worth £13.9m. The contracts support 268 private, affordable, and social homes, with works spanning earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations, pumping infrastructure, and flood management.


  • Glasgow starts Stockwell Street Avenue construction

    Construction has started on Glasgow’s new Stockwell Street Avenue works. The phased scheme will renew roads and pavements, add drainage and landscaping, upgrade signals, and create segregated cycling infrastructure through late 2027.

    Network Rail is advancing Glasgow south-side railway renewal works intensively. The £1.5m programme combines track replacement and bridge interventions across three planned August weekend possessions.


  • Higgins appointed for 182-home Brentford regeneration

    Higgins will deliver 182 council homes through Brentford estate regeneration. The social-rent scheme will replace 92 existing homes, add larger family properties, commercial space, and more than 2,500 square metres of landscaped green space.


  • Multiplex confirmed for £300m City Road tower

    Multiplex will start main works at 99 City Road shortly. The £300m retrofit and extension will create a 36-storey tower providing 475,000 sq ft of commercial space, with practical completion targeted for 2030.
