IN Brief:
- Huws Gray is adopting Slimstock’s planning platform across its UK branch network.
- The rollout is intended to automate ordering, improve forecast accuracy and strengthen replenishment control.
- The system will sit alongside Border Merchant Systems ERP as a dedicated planning layer.
Huws Gray is rolling out Slimstock’s AI-powered planning platform across its UK branch network as the builders’ merchant group moves to centralise supply chain planning and automate ordering.
The deployment is designed to standardise forecasting and replenishment decisions while giving the group tighter visibility over stock positioning and supplier coordination. According to the announcement, the platform will help simplify ordering at branch level, improve forecast accuracy and enable faster replenishment across the network.
Slimstock’s software will integrate with Huws Gray’s existing Border Merchant Systems ERP rather than replace it, creating a dedicated planning layer on top of current operating systems. That structure is intended to improve control without disrupting day-to-day trading activity across the branch estate.
For the merchant sector, the move underlines how inventory planning is becoming more centralised, data-led and automated. In a market where availability, branch responsiveness and supplier performance remain closely linked, planning software is taking a more direct role in commercial execution.
