Hitachi adds Trimble grade control to European excavators

Hitachi is adding factory-integrated Trimble grade control to European excavators. Dealer-backed supply and support will begin in selected markets from H2 2026.

IN Brief:

  • HCME will supply Trimble Earthworks 3D and WorksManager directly through its European dealer network.
  • The agreement creates the first factory-integrated Hitachi excavator offering with full Trimble Earthworks functionality in Europe.
  • Deliveries are set to begin in select European countries in the second half of 2026.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe is expanding its collaboration with Trimble to supply excavators with factory-integrated Earthworks 3D grade control across Europe.

The agreement brings Trimble Earthworks and Trimble WorksManager into HCME’s own dealer channel, creating a direct purchase route for customers who previously had to assemble the machine and digital package through a more fragmented process. For contractors, the shift is less about a single hardware option than about compressing procurement, installation, training and after-sales support into one dealer-backed path.

Trimble Earthworks gives operators real-time 3D grade guidance in the cab, while WorksManager connects office models and site devices so design updates, machine files and troubleshooting can move between the field and back office without the usual lag. In practice, that should reduce setup time and rework on projects where excavation accuracy, data flow and machine uptime are now part of the productivity equation rather than optional extras.

HCME says deliveries will begin in selected European countries in the second half of 2026. Availability can be checked through Hitachi’s European dealer network, which will also handle service and support alongside the machine supply.
